Level V Requirements

  • Usually small, sparsely populated area
  • Basic health care facility
  • No other nearby trauma facility
  • Clinic or small hospital often with long term nursing care
  • May or may not have basic lab and x-ray
  • Usually no surgical capability
  • May be staffed by a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with phone contact with physician
  • Initial basic resuscitation equipment
  • Trauma trained personnel
  • Trauma Team Plan
  • Close formal relationship with regional trauma center
  • All Legislative Rule §64 CSR 27-6.2 requirements
